Country's largest newspaper dealt devastating blow

USA Today President and Publisher Craig Moon, who spent 23 years with the company, announced his retirement on Tuesday, leaving the country's largest newspaper with its two top positions unfilled.

The economic slowdown has reduced USA Today's circulation by more than 7%… it has lost more than 100,000 subscribers just through the slowdown in travel. Gannett, the paper's publisher, expects ad revenue to fall by as much as 35% in the first quarter.
