Today we're reading a great piece from the FT titled "Bankruptcy could be good for America."

The author makes a strong case that teetering on the edge of default could be the only catalyst strong enough to get America back on track, suggesting that "the two biggest and most beneficial geopolitical stories of the past 30 years - the spread of democracy and of globalisation - were driven by a succession of states finding their coffers empty."

We hope it doesn't take a complete collapse for America to find it's way, but it's reassuring to know that these situations don't always end badly...
