By Daily Crux Editor Justin Brill:

In what's becoming a near daily event, eccentric oil expert Matt Simmons recently gave another frightening interview on the Gulf oil disaster.

Simmons told MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan that the spill is much larger than we've heard. He says there's now "a 100 mile oil lake at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, that's apparently 400-500 feet deep." He thinks any hurricane that passes through the gulf would stir up this massive lake of oil and "paint the Gulf coast black."

He also repeats his claim that the only options to stop the leak are to use a controlled nuclear explosion or to wait for it to stop, which could take 30 years and poison not just the Gulf but perhaps the entire Atlantic Ocean.
