We try not to kick a city when it's down, but we'll make an exception for Detroit.

This chart from Dr. Mark J. Perry's blog is incredible. It shows the huge decline in Detroit real estate from 2003 to 2009. The average home price in the city right now is around $12,000... down 42.5% from last year.

That's bad, but here's the shocker: Detroit homes are down a giant 87% since 2003.
