California disaster continues: Unemployment rate climbs to three-decade high

The disaster in California continues…

California's unemployment rate now sits at 11.4%, the highest since the state started keeping records three decades ago.

Considerably higher than the national rate of 9.4%, California's rate is eclipsed by just four other states: Michigan, Rhode Island, and South Carolina.
