Welfare applications are soaring

One of the few growth industries right now: processing welfare claims.

The states with the highest unemployment rates are suffering the worst increases. California's applications are up 10% in the past year... Oregon's are up 27%... South Carolina's are up 23%.

Welfare cases are catching up to a similar handout program, food stamps... a program that has seen a 19% increase in recipients in the past year.
