Researchers at Carnegie-Mellon say they have discovered patterns in the way Social Security numbers are issued… and it's not hard to guess your number.

The Social Security Administration is downplaying the findings… with classic "don't worry, America, the government has it under control" press releases. Security/privacy expert Donald Solove calls it a "really big deal."
