Right now, California is in the middle of its worst budget crisis ever. Its ridiculous tax and spend policies have brought the government to its knees.

This excellent opinion piece from a long-time L.A. business owner explains a good part of the problem. In a mad grab for taxes and fees, the city changed his business' tax status and ignored a legal precedent. Because of the bureaucratic debacle, he is taking his business out of the state.
