Fund managers can have hot streaks and cold streaks, and many investment strategies work for a time, but later fail when the market changes direction. While past success is not a guarantee of future performance, mutual funds with stable management and a consistent approach to investing have better chances at repeating their success.

Forbes rates funds separately for their performance in bull and bear markets. Most managers do not do well in both, but we searched our database for notable exceptions and came up with a list of 10 funds that are worth considering for the long haul.
