ASI: Doug, tell us a little bit about your project, Estancia de Cafayate. What is it and what will it become?

Doug: Estancia is a 1500-acre resort development right outside the town of Cafayate. That’s in Salta Province, in the northwest part of Argentina. About 6,000 people live in Cafayate. It’s an absolutely delightful town. There are a couple of dozen nice restaurants, several hotels, some interesting shops, and a beautiful square in the center of town.

Our project, Estancia, is right on the edge of town. It’s close enough so you can walk there or, if you prefer, you can ride a horse. It’s the kind of place where people still do that. The area reminds me of the wild west of John Wayne movies. It’s that kind of wide-open place. Verdant green valleys with snow-capped mountains in the background.

What we’re doing at Estancia is simple: We’re building what is going to be the finest community on the face of the globe.
