Looking for a handyman? Need help with a job too complex for you to tackle?
I recommend Angie's List – an Internet clearinghouse of customer reviews of handymen and contractors. Angie's List says it catalogs reviews written by its user base of 750,000 subscribers on contractors and handymen in more than 400 categories. A $23 subscription gives you two years of access to the website.
After estimates for the damage done by a tree to my home in Augusta seemed too high, I thought I'd try the service. From my computer in Maryland and within hours, I found a guy who went by my house, sent me an estimate for his job, recommended someone else (also on the site) for the tree removal, and completed the tasks in a few days for 50% of what others wanted.
Angie's List saved me hundreds of dollars.
