Top energy economist: $100 oil coming soon

Former CIBC chief economist Jeff Rubin, who correctly called oil's rise to $100 in 2007, is predicting crude will return to triple digits again by the end of the year, and could hit $90 by March.

But Rubin also thinks we could be in for an eventual repeat of oil's 2008 plunge. “When we get into 2011 or 2012 and we start to deal with prices of $120 a barrel, $147 a barrel, $160 a barrel, that’s where I think at least the global economy becomes very challenged,” he said.
