$1,000 gold "not a question of if" but "how soon"

The CEO of gold mining giant Barrick Gold says it's not a question of "if" gold will break $1,000 an ounce, but "when."

Of course, we'd expect a gold mining CEO to trumpet bullish gold forecasts. You don't get rich in mining without having a strong streak of optimism. But the guy has a point about Americans realizing what the Germans, Russians, and Indians already have: Paper money not backed by gold is a huge fraud.
